THE ARGUS FAR FIVE

How would you describe the sound of Kit Major?

The feeling of beer-covered platform boots.

What are your biggest non-music influences?

Fashion, makeup, cinema, and marketing are some of my biggest non-music influences. Even when I was younger, I was really drawn to branding and packaging. I used to collect MAC cosmetic collections and never even use them because I loved how they looked. My walls are filled with collages I make. I love collecting magazines to keep inspiration around me.

If you had to cover any song and put a Kit Major spin on it, which would you choose?

‘Hateful’ – The Clash.

What is your earliest memory of music?

Sitting on the school bus listening to Green Day’s International Superhits! on my parent’s Walkman.

What does the rest of 2026 have in store for Kit Major?

New songs, new videos, a new EP, and a UK tour.

The video for your upcoming single, ‘Punk Rock Boyfriend’, depicts a mosh-heavy gig/party. When you’re performing, how do you make sure the energy gets as high as possible, as quickly as possible?

I think about that when I’m putting the setlist together. My favorite part of any show is the beginning. I love making sure it’s curated and exciting. The rest I just hope my music and vibe connects.

You’ve said that the world needs more honesty, and sometimes that means shouting ‘I want a boyfriend’. What are three things a punk rock boyfriend must have?

Respect for the classics.

A leather jacket.

Extra ear plugs on hand (in case I forget mine).

Your song, ‘Potion Seller’, reminded me of a classic YouTube video of the same name. How does online culture influence your music?

‘Potion Seller’ IS inspired by the classic YouTube video of the same name. I spend a lot of time watching archival footage of live shows. There’s an account I follow on Instagram that regularly posts clips of like, The Cramps, and it’s great. The closest I’ll ever get to seeing them perform.

You’ve featured on Vardaan Arora’s ‘SOLO DISCO’ and collaborated with multiple artists on moistbreezy’s ‘Best Regret’, both of which have a more electro-pop sound. How was it to delve into this genre?

I will always have a love for dance pop. I started my career with pop. It’s something I keep with me as I write my music now. I still write hooks in my version of punk rock.

Your bio renders you the ‘#1 dirty misfit’. Who is number two?

My band. They’re pretty fuckin’ dirty.
